Our Little Christmas

Christmas 1500 miles away from both of our families...could have been a disastrous cry-fest; however, the only one crying was Trace (and he does that when he's tired). We've eaten some wonderful meals (all of which we made- hats off to our moms and grandmas that have carried that load for so long... we understand your sacrifice now). We attended our new Branch... and they do plan on working us to death it sounds like. One woman was bold enough to tell us so while greeting us. We had the self control to wait until after church to open our presents (actually we were too late to get to that before we were out the door to church). The rest of the day has been nice and lazy... 55 degrees and no snow nice and lazy. We do miss our families, but surprisingly, we loved our little Christmas.

Merry Christmas Ya'll!

1584 Miles and 24 Hours Later

Driving through New Mexico, Texas, Oklahoma, and Arkansas was lots of fun... the kind of fun that includes being jam packed, along with all your belongings, inside a small SUV. Trace was a trooper; sleeping like a baby... as if we had spiked his baby food with cough syrup (I assure that we didn't). The first motel was fun, cheap, and dumpy... the second one was very dumpy, not so cheap, and not very fun (I could have sworn there were bed bugs, but we have no bites to prove it). Arriving in Tennessee was fantastic! We were so worn out (our rear ends mostly) that to arrive at our apartment, and know that we were there to stay, was an early Christmas present. All in all...we had a good time!

Made It!

Muddy Arizona

Our two weeks on the farm were filled with family, food, and snow- which turned to rain and produced lots of wonderful mud. The time flew by... too quickly... but thanks to Marley and Nikell, Shayna and I are way more prepared/hopeful/fearful about potty training Trace when that epic moment arrives. We played some games, watched television talent competitions, and made sushi...so I am pretty sure that nothing was left out. In the end, I was the schedule driven husband that tore his wife from her beloved family... it made our journey more dramatic.

Wallsburg Through The Year..

Adios To The Burg

Our exodus to southern living began with leaving our home sweet guest home in Wallsburg UT. We have loved living so close to my family and started missing them before we were even gone. We packed up/boxed up/gave up everything we own and headed off to Chino Valley AZ where we are spending 2 weeks with Shayna's family before we finish our long long drive to Tennessee.
