Tucker's Lymphatic Malformation

At the time where we had tried everything we could on our own to improve the swelling in Tuckers neck we took him to get an ultra sound, and found that he has a congenital Lymphatic Malformation-collections of malformed, dilated lymphatic channels that do not function correctly. It is rare and doesn't go away on its own. Often these malformations become very large, as Tuckers had become, and have to be surgically removed or dealt with using harsh medications. This is so far out of our comfort zone... but we have been watched over and comforted. We were able to meet with specialists at Primary Children's and have the first of many procedures. Andrea and Adam showed up while we were waiting for Tucker to get out of the procedure. They brought us lunch and we got to sit and talk with them for a short while. We were so grateful to have them stop by and make that long hour pass more quickly. The first hours of recovery were traumatic and Tucker required morphine, but by the next morning he had little pain. 6 weeks later now the procedure has lessened the neck swelling and made Tucker more comfortable. We plan to do another in March 2017. We feel very blessed to have found the resources we needed in the time we needed. We know that our Heavenly Father is mindful of our situation and is in control.
